Description

F150 F250 Manual to Power Passenger Seat Conversion

Convert your manual Ford F150 or Super Duty passenger seat to a power seat with lumbar support, without compatibility issues with your air bag and computer systems, SRS codes, or BCM (Body Control Module). These Ford F150 or Super Duty power seat conversion kits include a power OEM passenger seat frame and a modified wire harness that needs a simple 2 wire 12v connection. You have the option of either a 8-way or 10-way passenger power seat conversion kit.

Installation

Install will only take a couple hours at your local shop, or DIY and save some cash. In an afternoon, you can swap all of your seat components onto our OEM power frame, giving you the guarantee that the upholstery, wire harness and airbags are a perfect match, because they are your original components! The only wires you are adding are an isolated 12 volt power and ground from the fuse block or battery to the power seat frame.

If you are not the do-it-yourself type and don't have "A Guy"

We suggest that you contact any Reputable Car Upholstery Shop in your area to complete the transformation of a manual seat to a powered seat. Note that some Upholstery shops will not deal with adding the 12 volt power wires to the power seat conversion kit frame. The Reputable Upholsters who work with Custom Seat Builds will deal with adding power. However any of your Local Car Audio Shops will get the positive and negative isolated 12volt wires installed under your seat for your new Power Conversion Kit. The conversion kits will require 12 gauge wire and an 20 to 30 amp isolated circuit. Most of our customers or their shops are using inline slow blow circuit breaker to get power wire from a fuse panel or the to underneath the seat.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I bought a base-model F250 work truck without power seats. Can I actually upgrade to a full power seat?

  • Yes. Many truck owners choose a base model to save money on fleet or work packages, then later want more daily comfort. Our conversion kits let you add full power adjustments to your Ford F150 or Super Duty truck without computer or BCM compatibility issues.

  • Will adding a power seat Conversion Kit trigger an airbag light or code on my newer Ford truck?

  • No. Because you transfer your original factory manual wire harness and seat belt receptor, and air bag onto our power frame, your truck's computer thinks the factory setup is completely untouched. Your airbag system and BCM remain totally happy, meaning zero dash lights or error codes.

  • Will this mess up my truck's CAN bus system or blow fuses?

  • Not at all. The power mechanism runs on a completely isolated 12-volt circuit wired directly to the battery or an auxiliary fuse block. It bypasses the CAN bus system so your vehicle's sensitive onboard computers never detect it, keeping everything safe and compatible.

  • Are these cheap aftermarket frames or genuine factory equipment?

  • These are genuine Ford OEM factory frames. They are original equipment built to exact factory safety standards, structural and electrical specifications. This insures a bulletproof, seamless bolt-in fit using your truck's original mounting points.
  • Do I have to cut anything or modify my truck's interior?

  • No cutting or permanent modifications are required. The frame bolts straight into your truck's factory floor pan holes, and you reuse your existing factory foam, upholstery, safety components, and headrests so your interior keeps its original look.

  • Whats the difference between a 6, 8 and 10 way power seat tracks?
    • The 10 way track has power fore and aft, power front thigh support, power raise and lower, power lumbar and power tilt/recline. This conversion kit is the ultimate for long trips.
    • The 8 way track does not include the power thigh support. Great for those who have lower back issues.
    • The 6 way track does not include thigh support or raise and lower functions.
  • How hard is the installation?

Most DIYers with basic tools can knock out the component and material transfer in an afternoon, and any local car audio shop can easily run the isolated 12-volt power and ground wire under the seat if you're not comfortable doing it yourself.

  • Can I get a power conversion kit for my manual drivers seat?

  • Absolutely. We offer a 10-way F150 driver power conversion kit and a Super Duty Power Seat Conversion Kit
